Now let’s bring all of the collaboration’s awesome illustrations to life! Musicians, we need your instruments added to megancarnes’ score. I love how it’s sounding but we need to make it grander with more piano, brass, flutes, and strings!

SINGERS / RAPPERS / VOCALISTS: Your contributions to our track with the legendary Dan the Automator are great! But we isolated vocals like this uploaded so we can remix your audio. I really like JackMorrison’s “The Links” and I think that layering harmonies over the beat is a great direction to go in. This is gonna sound dope when we print it to vinyl!

12 hopes for 2012

2011 basically sucked for me (except for joining @hitRECord, that was pure fantasticalness), so I decided to write 12 hopes and wishes that I have for 2012 in an attempt to be more optimistic with the coming of the new year.

1. I hope my hitRECord anniversary on Jan. 13 rocks my socks off.
2. I hope I can find a new house to buy before the end of February so I’m not homeless.
3. I hope my classes continue to go well so I can graduate with my MA degree by Dec. 2012.
4. I hope my mom’s husband is able to give her the “special gift” he’s been saving up for this year.
5. I hope my dad gets more gigs! :D
6. I hope my family, especially my sister, is happy and has good things happen to them this year (baby #2 perhaps?) ;)
7. I hope I am able to move on from 2011’s shit.
8. I hope I expand my creative horizons and try more new things on hitRECord.
9. I hope all of my hitRECord friends have a happy and productive year.
10. I hope Chels gets better and kicks cancer’s ass. Go team :)
11. I hope to make more friends, especially RECording ones.
12. I hope my secret wish comes true. <3

HITRECORD At Sundance 2012 Announcement

Ladies and Gentlemen… We are going to Hit RECord at Sundance 2012! And guess what? Our  show is going to be at the Eccles Theater, the largest and most prestigious theater at the festival!  

The show is on the night of January 26th.  If you’re at Sundance, come on by!  Ticket info here.  

More importantly, we are going to make a bunch of new RECords to be screened at the fest.  We’ve got a lot of work ahead of us between now and Jan. 26 — keep your eyes and ears open for requests on upcoming projects! :oD

sick and tired of seeing her heartbreaking reactions to the beginning hair-loss due to the chemotherapy treatments, Melissa and I (with the Skype-support of CChellez), assisted Chelsea in the official rage-quitting of her hair.
Melissa braided and chopped off the bulk of it (which also included the priceless first time we’ve heard her use the F-word: FUCK YOU CANCER! [snipsnipsnip] FUCK YOU CANCER! [snipsnipsnip] FUCK YOU CANCER!), and yours truly took the honors of handling the clippers. It was a emotional mix of laughter and tears.
But we would rather see her in better spirits without hair, than melting down in the slow, inevitable loss of it.
